AHIP Training
Based on feedback from agents who have already taken the exam, we put together some tips to help you navigate through that lovely AHIP certification and prepare you for a prosperous AEP.
AHIP consists of 5 core modules as it has in previous years. If it’s your first time taking AHIP or skipped a year, you must review modules 1 through 5. If you took the exam earlier this year or last year, you do not have to take modules 1, 2, and 3 but we do recommend it. Modules 4 and 5 are still required.

At the end of each module, there’s a 20-question review quiz. Everyone must
take all 5 quizzes regardless of skipping over modules 1, 2, and 3. Even though
you’re not being graded on these quizzes; you will still have access to the right
answers at the end of each assessment. We suggest you download the module
PDFs to use as a study guide.
The final exam has 50 questions with 2 hours to complete. You will have 3
available attempts to pass and must score 90% or higher. These questions are
very similar to the review quizzes so pay close attention as you go through each
section. Watch out for typos, beneficiary name changes, and those tricky
questions like “All of the following are NOT part of ‘Blank’ except…” for example.
These questions could easily throw you off. Be on the lookout for MSA
Enrollment Periods, cost plans and compliance-related questions
Once you pass, you have 3 post-exam modules which comprise of Nondiscrimination; Medicare Fraud, Waste, and Abuse; and General Compliance. Each module has a review quiz followed by a graded exam. You must pass these 10-question exams with a passing score of 70% or higher.
This year, Brand New Day is offering a $50 discount on the AHIP (Normally $175).
